| Andrea Attardi / “DIARIO SICILIANO” |
As it is suitable him to the true photographers, Andrea Attardi it stirs as a collector of shades, of bawls originated in to make and to undo of the light: of the impalpable one and of the wonder created by the meeting of the boiling greatness of the Sun with the imperceptible littleness of particles of silicon and coal that the atmospheric layer forms that our planet winds.
The beauty of the photo and all of our experience of human she resides in fact exactly here: in the inextricable interlacement of immensity and littleness, so much that we can say that there are no derisive things, but only substantial reality. What nothing of what surrounds it has us little value. There are things that touch more us, that we feel more intimate. Among them the landscapes, the places and the characters around which we are grown. Every thing that stings us, stings us in relationship to our past, to our being been inside a place with its stories.
For this reason, for whoever of us Andrea’s Attardi photos picked up in the exhibition " Diario siciliano" mean a way to see again our life.
For a lot of of these images, the photographer has longly attended. He has waited that the light had one particular substance of his, that, meeting certain objects, it became form. Unequivocal sign of the perception of the author. Which extends to the geometry and the tall tones of contrast and the blacks and the intense whites in the specific case of Andrea Attardi.
These photos taken in different places of Sicily result indeed of an extraordinary essentiality and of a rare evocative ability. Of a lightness that in quite a lot circumstances ballet becomes, even bringing a famous sentence of Paul Valery worth to the mind: “L’instant engendre la forme, et la forme fait voir l’instant".
