Melania Comoretto / District Women |
The project Casa Circondariale Femminile rise from a reflection on mental prisons and psychological mazes that trap the human being, prevent to feel life, and imprison their body.
But it is only through contact and awareness of the body itself that the human being can find freedom.
Anyone, in pain or fear, who has had the experience to close themselves to life know how difficult and sometimes nearly impossible is the path to rehabilitation.
The photographs were taken inside the female Prison of Rebibbia and Trapani, the symbol of the physical and mental inability to move, to live, to be desired. |
