To mark the continuous growth of FotoLeggendo, this year has been founded a new prize, entitled to the memory of one of the founders of FotoLeggendo, Giovanni Tabò, prematurely disappeared to the 44 year-old age: the G Prize. Tabò. The contest is open to photographers that have not overcome the 44 years of age, without distinction among amateurs and professionals, that can participate in the selection sending cultural Photographic Shops to the association a solo job within June 11 th 2009, on computer support, constituted by a maximum of 20 images, that is structured as a portfolio and equipped by a documentation on the author and the introduced materials.
Between 12 and June 21 st 2009 a Jury composed by collaborators and teachers of Photographic Shops, with an external President, it chooses two jobs that will be exposed to the fifth edition of FotoLeggendo, in the places of the the.S.To. The Tabò Prize, of the European entity of 1500, will be attributed to one of the two jobs exposed by the experts entrusted of the readings of the Portfolio October 11 th 2009, with official proclamation to the 18.30 of the same day. To the second job a plate of worth will go.
The Tabò Prize is promoted by the Friends of FotoLeggendo, with the support of the Cultural Associations Officine Fotografiche and Controchiave.
22 giugno 2009 - We make known that the reached jobs they have been well 154, of which a third Authors. The achieved result naturally fills us with joy, but it also allows us some perplexed ones thinking that only two Portfolio will be exposed to FotoLeggendo and solo one it will receive the Giovanni Tabò Prize. In the future we will certainly have to hold I count of it.
It is really on the base of the notable and qualified share, we have decided to lengthen the times of the analyses and the comparison among the Members of Jury to arrive to an unanimous sharing and not hasty of the final result, in the respect of the share and the same name of the Contest.
We communicate therefore, hoping that the skid is from you shared and justified, that the conclusive judgment, anticipated for June 22, on July 9 will be published.

1° NATIONAL PHOTO COMPETITION "GIOVANNI TABO’"
The jury of the first National Photography Competition "Giovanni Tabo’" consists of:
Maurizio Valdarnini - President of the Jury, a professional photographer,
Lecturer and Director of the Istituto Superiore di Fotografia e Comunicazione Integrata.
Massimo Ciampa - Photographer, Head of Educational activities at Officine Fotografiche
Claudio Corrivetti - Editor, Professional Photographer.
Emilio D'Itri - Head of Officine Fotografiche and FotoLeggendo.
Dario De Dominicis - Photographer / Lecturer at Officine Fotografiche.
Alberto Placidoli - Officine Fotografiche Groups Coordinator, Organizer of FotoLeggendo.
Claudio Romanelli - Head of Controchiave Cultural Association.
after a careful and repeated examination of the 153 Portfolio eligible for the award, which met in the final session on July, 6, 2009 at the headquarters of Officine Fotografiche Cultural Association in Rome, has decided to allow the exhibition during the V° FotoLeggendo edition to the following work:
Portfolio: Berlin Babylon

Reason: "With skillful use of photography, the author has interpreted Berlin as unusual and new way. City within a city in constant transformation: structure and figure among tangles of lines and volumes that overlap giving the impression of chaotic change, expand each other and subtracting space and air to human being which dissolves in its weak existence"
Portfolio: Protokoll
Author: Christian Lutz
Reason: "Moments of some official policy meetings elegantly represented by frames where the reality is closer to fiction. The author, with respectful detachment and subtle critical sense, becomes the hidden director of the formal spots and make the viewer in front of aesthetically coherent moments that give way to an interpretation between irony and awe.”
The two Portfolio, as provided by the Rules of Competition, will be seen on October 10 and 11, during the meetings FotoLeggendo by the experts in order to adjudge the Giovanni Tabò award.
Members of the Jury at the conclusion of the work, expressed heartfelt appreciation to all participants at the high technical merit and content of the portfolio submitted, rarely found in such high concentration in a Photo competition.
