Seminars at FotoLeggendo 2009
In addition to FotoLeggendo dense program of exhibitions and projections, the whole event will be an opportunity for discussions on Photography as art and as a practice, through the many appointments scheduled at ISA and at Officine Fotografiche.
The program of seminars and conferences at ISA opens this year with a conference by Tano D'Amico, our special guest, who will talk about his incessant civil commitment in the battle for civil rights in Italy. This appointment will be followed by a lesson led by Diego Mormorio on the figure of the great master of Italian photography Pasquale De Antonis; a seminar on the GRIN (National Group of the Iconographic Editors) and on the work of the photoeditor, speaker Maria Teresa Cerretelli; a speech of Roberto Mutti and Maurizio Garofalo on the various steps for the publication of photographic reportage, from the proposal to the choice of the pictures; a meeting on the creative ways of the ISFCI students curated by Maurizio Valdarnini and Dario Coletti, and a meeting-comparison between the photographers Sara Munari and Melania Comoretto, curated by and coordinated by Maurizio G. De Bonis.
Very important is the appointment with the Italian winners of the World Press Photo, Carlo Gianferro, Massimo Siragusa, Davide Monteleone and Giulio Di Sturco, introduced by Tiziana Faraoni: they will be speaking not only of the prestigious international award, but more generally about their work experiences, together with the special guest Mashid Mohadjerin, winner of the WPP herself, who's exposing at FotoLeggendo the winning work on Lampedusa.
Activities in Officine Fotografiche focus especially on workshops (with limited entry, only upon reservation) and seminars, which are open to the public.
Among the seminars, do not miss the one on how to transform a photo project in an exhibition, curated by Chiara Capodici and Fiorenza Pinna, from 3/3_studio di ricerca sull’immagine fotografica, the seminar on why to do photography with the art dealer Carlo Gallerati, and the meeting with the photographer Giorgio Palmera, president of Fotografi Senza Frontiere (Photographers Without Borders), who will talk about his last project on prostitution in Uganda and the book which emerged, "Body and Soul", Postcart editions. More technical appointments are the ones with Massimo Ciampa, on visual composition techniques, and with Franco Antonetti, on the fine art prints techniques. Both of them are teachers from Officine Fotografiche.
