Paola Fiorini
Opening: October 8
Elisa Fashion District

There are places where time sounds to have stopped, where relations, glances and human's life move beyond the lancets of the watch. The small hairdresser's shop in which Paola Fiorini composes this story, is a rare situation of temporal suspension. A perfect ecosystem where each move is undefinitely repeated, where each cigarette is appreciated as the first one.
A curtain on the windows protect this little world from external eyes. Nonetheless we're allowed to get into, through Paola's frames. Inside a perfect balance between kitsch estetics and true vintage insists: everything in the wright place in this poor disorder, stratifed by remebrance and filled by object from recent past. It's a fashionable place, condensed of humanity, of phrases not pronounced and stories not expressed because already known. There's no hurry in this place, no appointments after the "mise en plis", no kids to be driven to the swimming-pool, no golden haircuttings to be reflected in the mirrors. The small space of the shop does not allow for competition, but for willingness to relax, by warm hands head massages.
Elisa holds the hairbrush and scissors with proudness, challenging us with these swords, hence she hugs herself with her deformed bones, transformed as they are by a lifelong practice. Nonetheless a woman who still loves herself and her job.
The "salon" we're visiting could be located in any suburb of the world, anywhere somebody would get away from stressful life, take a shampoo, leaf through a journal and, why not, look at a small holy picture asking for a support. At Elisa's, as well as at Tiffany's, nothing bad can happen. The small space of the shop does not allow for competition, but for willingness to relax, by warm hands head massages.
