Officine Fotografiche it’s a cultural no-profit association founded in 2001 in Rome to sustain and spread the culture of image. A socio-cultural field is recognized far beyond the city limits over the years become a reference point in the national scene photography. The project is conceived as 600 square meters multifunction space for training programs related to learning the technical means and cultural aspects so to develop an artistic knowledge and self-conscious. Officine Fotografiche year-round organizes meetings, workshop and seminars with photographers, critics and teachers, plus publishing presentations with international authors and reviewers. In its spaces, organizes exhibitions to bring emerging and established authors. The Space open to different expressions and inflections of contemporary photography it is a place of encounter and exchange between professionals and amateurs it is an education centre for photographers of all levels, a continuous project laboratory open to individual and group creativity, dedicated to various expression to art form photographic events. Divided in various thematic sections, associates and photographers can count on a large selection of activities: exhibitions, contests, educational activities and numerous events aimed for all age group and levels of interest. An ideal space dedicated to those approaching photography for the first time as well as more expert individuals seeking further stimulus in order to grow and broaden their vision. Officine Fotografiche, throughout the years, has become the centre for the promotion and the development of quality photography, characterized not only by technical knowledge but also and above well artistic and cultural institution. O.F. has become a strong photographic community open to the formulation and realization of projects. It creates shares and spreads the art of photography through various significant annual events: as Obbiettivo Donna and FotoLeggendo. Two appointments each year capture the interest of important cultural partners and media system, involving prominent personalities and distinguish, by the offer area, whit competitions, projects and appointments, embracing such a broad consensus among young people, which is also given the opportunity to meet and to work actively.

EVENTS

Officine Fotografiche and production of various international events

Obbiettivo Donna is always held in March. The event, unique of its kind, proposes every years a specific thematic section of women’s views. Exhibitions, meeting and editorial presentations, besides to explore new areas in several cultural and social fields, it affirm the women role in a contemporary photographic view. FotoLeggendo is always held every years in October at the post-industrial complex “Istituto Superiore Antincendi” (I.S.A.) in Rome. This festival, dedicated to portfolio reading it’s inserted in a famous circuit of the Italian Federation Photographic Associations (FIAF). Each year provides a rich program of exhibitions, multimedia shows, meetings and seminars. The festival is always on the lookout for new talent and is a positive experience for thephotographers, students and professionals. The heart of FotoLeggendo is characterized by the portfolio readings, and meetings among photographers, photo editors, criticals, reporters and journalists. In the various editions alternate personalities from the national and international photography scene including Leonard Freed, Antonin Kratochvil, Tano D'Amico, Francesco Cito, Mashid, Marco Vacca. In the past 2009 edition were also the italian winners of World Press Photo 2009: Giulio Di Sturco, Carlo Gianferro Davide Monteleone, Massimo Siragusa. In addition of exhibitions during the meeting wereheld a series of collectivefrom across Europe (kameraphoto, Picturetank, Prospekt) with greats editorial presentations which stimulate public debate.
