Special Fotoleggendo 2010
FRANCESCO ZIZOLA - Photojournalism: the duty to testify, new technologies, ethics

5, 6, 7 november 2010

"My vision of photojournalism is initially ethics. Photojournalism is a language that has to do with men and the world they live, says the men and their actions and may be entitled as a story only if it respects the photographer 'existence and dignity. The photograph in addition to being a mirror of reality is also a mirror of the interior of the photographer, photographed the image we see the reality represented and read while the choice of interpretation of the photographer, and with it his its ethical and cultural universe. A good journalistic photography has much to do with the respect that the photojournalist has the world and its inhabitants. While the photographer has, create, edit, in short does everything that the light fits perfectly to his design (photo-graphy), the reporter must develop the art of instinct, discipline visual, significant of the moment, the psychology of humans and [...] try to ensure that that portion of the frame track of what remains that for a moment was a human being with its joys and sorrows. If we can empathize, if you feel part of that reality, it is likely that the other trust that you will accept in its sometimes difficult reality."
Francesco Zizola

The course includes reading the portfolio of students. AThrough image analysis, the teacher will provide critical tools and analysis to understand how the language of the report can be applied to the media - traditional and otherwise - and show, presenting recent works, all steps necessary to reach the publication by Technical editing the final selection.
