FotoLeggendo produced and arranged by the Cultural Association Officine Fotografiche is a Portfolio reading event inserted into National FIAF circuit known as "Portfolio Italia - Gran Premio Epson – Premio Kiwanis." The participation is free and the event, that takes place every year in October in Italy, has a duration of three weeks.
The 2009 edition of FotoLeggendo, open 9 to 31 October, will develop itself around two location, as in 2008. The headquarters will be at Istituto Superiore Antincendi in Rome, where will be lead portfolio readings, enriched by two day of projections and seminars and, until 24 October, will be displayed 19 exhibitions for totaling around 500 photographs. Since October 15-31 the activities will move to Officine Fotografiche, where will be held workshops on photography, photoediting and digital, with a rich program of seminaries.
Fotoleggendo is twinned from 2006 by Boutographies - Rencontres de Montpellier photografiques, a festival held every years in France, and that twinning is concretized in exchanging exhibitions that, from 2007, creates the Prix Echange.
FotoLeggendo uses each year contribution of the XI Culture Town Hall of the City of Rome; the sponsorship of Istituto Superiore Antincendi (ISA), hosting exhibitions of the event at his place, and of the FIAF partnership.
Readings of portfolios, heart of the event, give young photograph fans the chance to analyzing issues of their employment with the assistance of the experts selected by Officine Fotografiche.
