Officine Fotografiche Cultural Association was born in October 2001 and has center in the street Hamlet de Merode 17/a, in the district Ostiense, really opposite to the complex of the institute Romano of St. Michael. Principal objective of the association is to increase the technical and cultural knowledge of the photographic image making at the same time her accessible to all the social classes.
The structure of OF has a room espositiva where continually authors are proposed both national and international, giving space to those whole new realities that usually labor to intend in the canonical circuits.
To OF, true laboratory of search, ideas are not only born, but they are brought before and you finalize to one diffusion of theirs. For his/her pedagogic appointment in the photo, OF collaborates with the cultural institutions; particularly the association represents a point of arrival to express his own photographic passion and a point of departure to improve the technique and the specialization, the all to the insignia of the photographic culture. Officine Fotografiche has become with to spend some years a reality in the national panorama of the photo.
In these last years has seen the rotate in his center of many personality of the photographic world: Leonard Freed, Francis Cito, Fabian Cevallos, Tano Di I befriend, Antonin Kratochvil.
OF has organized in the time you meet, seminars, presentations of photographic books. Photographic shops it is organizer and producer of FotoLeggendo, the first festival of photo in Rome devoted to the reading of the Portfolio, inserted in the circuit of "Portfolio Italia." OF is promoting and organizer of "Obiettivo Donna" review devoted to the visions to the female one that is held for the whole month of March in his exposure center.
Officine Fotografiche doesn't want to be a school of formation, our courses to contained and accessible prices for all are alone of the effective tools that we make of our associates to allow to fill him the single and specific technical gaps available, so that to be able to be able to actively participate and in constructive way to the life of the association.
The courses are kept all from professionals of the sector, or from students of the photo that distinguish him for a way to photograph 'professional.' In the time we are set the objective to document the territory there and this has given life to some jobs on Testaccio, Ostiense, Garbatella and Appia Antica, for then subsequently affrontrare social themes like the condition of the elderly centers of the XI Town hall or the condition of the disabled persons in the sport, or still as the photographic census of the emergent Roman musical realities. These projects have seen in the time their scope in some photographic shows shown up in Rome in important demonstrations and in some publications. The true innovation of Officine Fotografiche is its value for all the impassioned. OF has gone to fill a historical void to Rome, that alive of photo only in the photographic shows or the specialized schools, without never taking a place that resulted from adhesive for all the lovers of this discipline.
